Dodding Pond
Dodding Pond may have been a lane somewhere east of
the Tower of London and near the Abbey of St. Mary Graces (Harben). It is mentioned by Stow as part of his
description of Portsoken Ward;
all East Smithfield, with the right part of the streete that goeth to Dodding Pond into the Thames, and also the Hospitall of Saint Katherins[...] are of the said Fee and Libertie(Stow).
Historical records are only vaguely refer to Dodding
Pond and do not reveal its precise location.
