rsync to idaho slow

Posted by sarneil on 17 Jan 2007 in Servers, Activity log
Another instance this morning of the connection from my Mac to Idaho being very slow. Discussed with Greg who forced the Network card to 100 full. Once that was done upload speeds much, much faster. Current theory is that NIC goes go sleep, resets itself to 10-half and then doesn't successfully negotiate a faster connection with the switch. Will continue to monitor the situation daily and report to Greg.
