Lab build update
I now have one machine set up on the new VLAN 761. Authentication against UVic and OAK works, and I can connect to Squash and other network resources.
NOTES:
1) To accommodate the authentication it was necessary to add an include in the VLAN 761 ACL to allow communication between our VLAN and the VLANs that the Domain Controllers are running on.
2) In order to have both IP names and DHCP the node in IPAdmin needs to be set to static-dhcp; a MAC address for the machine is also required. I have updated my network spreadsheet to include MAC addresses of the lab machines. This is slightly more useful to me than the previous setup because it allows me to set the machines to DHCP in the Ghost task. I believe that an IP name is used for certain communication, but I will test this to be sure. An advantage to running a pure DHCP lab is that the MAC address is not required - in fact I don't even need to create a node in the IPAdmin DB.
Next step is to pull an image from the updated machine and push it to the lab. I'll take an image from a machine on the 133 VLAN as well for backup. Once I have the lab on the new VLAN I need to change the teacher station and Squash/Parsnip as well. Then I can do some speed tests and try to figure out where bottlenecks such as Lab-C-16 are coming from. This last bit may require a visit from NETS.
