Linguistics have a rather confusing audio setup in their booth which is basically using an entire mixing desk to supply phantom power to a mic; they also have problems with playback to the in-booth speakers because the're missing a Y-splitter cable to feed mono 1/4-inch jacks to a stereo mini jack to the speakers. Greg and I spent some time working around the problem, and arrived at a setup which works perfectly in Audacity and has nice level settings, but it's not working with the VocaliD system which runs in the Chrome browser; they're going to contact tech support for VocaliD about that. I wish they had a limiter on their mic input too; the head-mounted mic very easily clips.
Listed out my current top tasks in the new Basecamp project. Also got the SFU repository data cleaned up in AtoM, and published all the imported archival descriptions so that we can discuss the success/failure of the import. It looks quite good, but there are obvious problems such as repeated dates.
Worked on a number of tickets that are with me, and took some to discussion on the Council and Simple lists. I think I'm basically up to date with my tickets now ahead of the meeting on Thursday.
Leaving early. Not feeling too good.
This was the most complicated article I've done so far, with a huge biblio (now using bibl rather than biblStruct, which will speed future articles), as well as lots of mentioned, quotes, foreign terms, etc. and a big table.
Out for an appointment this morning.
In prep for the Council meeting next week, prepared a presentation on how the oxygen-tei plugin works, how we build it, etc.; this was actually quite useful in teaching me stuff that we will use in building a plugin for ISE editors later this year.
A bug was caused by link-generating markup in titleStmt/title, so I've removed that from Stow (the only place it was), and added it to Schematron, as well as some other minor Schematron additions suggested by JT.
Late duty.
Early start (6am) plus late duty.
