King’s Artirce

Stow reports of having read a record of a mansion house of the kings called King’s Artice on Lime Street (Stow 114). The record Stow cites dates back to the fourteenth year of Edward I’s reign and, by Stow’s time, the mansion had apparently grown out of knowledge (Stow 114).
