[COMMONS] 6228
NORTH—WEST TERRITORIES ACT.
Mr. DEWDNEY moved concurrence in amendments made by the Senate to Bill (No. 126) to
amend the Acts respecting the North-West Territories.
Mr. DAVIN. I would have moved that these
amendments be not agreed to, but I had a conversation with the Hon. Mr. Dewdney, who
tells me
that certain changes will be made which will, I
think, be quite satisfactory to the North-West.
Mr. LAURIER. I would say to the Minister
that I have received from the Territory of Saskatchewan a protest that the electoral
districts as
they are now arranged will not be satisfactory,
some being too small and others too large. I stated
to my correspondent that I would make the protest, but that I could not do anything
more, as I
do not profess to be familiar with the localities.
Amendments concurred in.
