  • Added 17 images of Arthur Rackham's colour plates from the second opera, The Valkyrie (en.), in Volume One of Richard Wagner's The Rhine Gold ; & The Valkyrie (1910). Translated by Margaret Armour.
  • Added a link to E-Resources for Snorre Sturlasøn: Kongesagaer (1899), i.e., Gustaf Storm's illustrated Norwegian translation of Snorri Sturlason's Heimskringla (is.) that is known in English as The History of the Kings of Norway.
  • Added a photograph to the Community Section of the Dissemination page for the Needle Felting Display at the Victoria Medieval Conference: Re-creating the Middle Ages on February 7, 2026 at the Bob Wright Centre, University of Victoria. Also added a link to the image list for individual needle feltings in MyNDIR.
  • Added a link to E-resources for Samuel Laing's unillustrated translation in 1844 of Snorri Sturluson's Heimskringla.
  • According to the Internet Archive's WayBack Machine's site, The Medieval and Classical Literature Library's site has not been available since September 2, 2025. Consequently, I changed the e-text links for Heimskringla on MyNDIR pages to Chronicle of the Kings of Norway.
  • I changed the url on the About page for my dissertation An Old Norse Image Hoard: From the Analog Past to the Digital Present to a link for the pdf in MyNDIR.
  • Updated the list of Flickr albums on the Dissemination page to include Der Ring des Nibelungen / The Ring Cycle (1939 edition)Volume I: The Rhinegold ; & The Valkyrie Translated by Margaret Armour and illustrated by Arthur Rackham.

  • Revised biblio.xml citation files to facilitate "Credit this image" for images of physical objects, such as needle felted renderings of illustrations inspired by images of illustrations in MyNDIR.
  • Revised origDate to match sourceDesc date, e.g., first and subsequent editions, where necessary to facilitate "Credit this image."

  • Added Illustrated Title for Ragnarok which is a half-title page illustration that brings the number of digital images on MyNDIR to 44 for Louis Moe's Ragnarok: En Billeddigtning. A needle felted piece based on Moe's Miðgarðsormr increases the total in Search results to 45.
  • MyNDIR's Gallery now has 450 digital images.
  • Created a new section on Dissemination page called "Community" for examples of dissemination that are enabled by the use of MyNDIR's images.
  • Added a pdf to the Community section on Dissemination page for some of MyNDIR's images that were used in the slideshow for the Vikings Vixens & Valkyries event. Victoria, British Columbia. March 23rd, 2024.

  • Version 2.5 takes care of updating overlooked items that were not addressed in the previous release.
  • See Version 2.4 below for major updates to MyNDIR's site such as the Humanities Computing and Media Centre: MyNDIR Poster (2023-08-14) and the new Dissemination page.
  • Added links and page reference numbers in Research Notes for illustrations in Asgard Stories that were based on illustrations from Nordisch-germanische Götter und Helden.
  • Deleted the frontispiece from Legends of Norselands (en.) because we are just starting work on the images from that book.
  • Added a keyword for Verelius's Gothrici and RolfiWestrogothiae Regum Historia: Lingua antiqua Gothica conscripta‬ (la.), i.e., The History of the Kings of Gothric and Rolfi Westrogothia: written in the ancient Gothic language (en.). Also added a Related Item link for the Deluding of Gylfi illustration by Verelius and the reverse image rendering by Bartholin. and
  • Ran a spell check on the entire site that took care of typos and dittographies.

  • Completed the requirements to make the site Endings Compliant to ensure long term digital sustainability.
  • Began the MyNDIR-IDG Project, funded by an SSHRC Insight Development Grant, in the fall of 2020 to add Victorian/Edwardian illustrations from retellings of Norse Mythology to the site.
  • Revised the About page and included a new “About Us” section with a link to the new MyNDIR Team page.
  • Added a “What’s New in MyNDIR?” page to give detailed version updates and linked it to the “About” page.
  • Revised the information concerning artistic "Medium" for items whose method of creation is difficult to discern, e.g., different types of engraving.
