Arthur Rackham's colour plates from the third opera, Siegfried (en.) in Volume II: Siegfried
& Götterdämmerung. Translated by Margaret Armour. The four
operas are: Das Rheingold, (The Rhinegold), Die
Walküre / Die Valküre (The Valkyrie), Siegfried, and Götterdämmerung (The
Twilight of the Gods). The fourth opera, Götterdämmerung will be the major focus of the next
release.
Added 17 images from The Valkyrie, the
second opera in Der Ring des Nibelungen / The Ring

i.e., the third opera in Der Ring des Nibelungen / The Ring
Cycle (1939 edition) to the Flickr album.
Added Arthur Rackham's pen-and-ink illustrated title pages to MyNDIR for
the 1912 edition of Volume
1 and the 1911 edition of Volume II.
I created a keyword tag for the ring, "Der Ring des Nibelungen (artifact)", i.e., the physical object
in Der Ring des Nibelungen, as opposed to the collective title for Richard
Wagner's four operas that in English are often called The Ring Cycle.
I also created a keyword for the common noun ring and its Norse equivalent hringr.
Searching for "ring" or "hringr" will now find all the rings in MyNDIR,
e.g., Óðinn's ring, "Draupnir" etc. Using
the Index to find "Der Ring des Nibelungen (artifact)" will limit results to
Wagner's operas, as will searching for "Alberich's Ring".
I revised the titles for the title for the operas in Der
Ring des Nibelungen / The Ring Cycle. by removing the definite
articles so that they would alphabetize properly in the Index. I also added
"(opera)" after each title to distinguish them from people and places in the
Index.
I revised the tags for the Norns in Norse
mythology throughout MyNDIR to include their names, i.e., Urðr, Verðandi,
and Skuld, signifying Past, Present, and Future. The Norns in Richard
Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen do not appear
until the fourth opera, The Twilight of the Gods,
and they were not given individual names.
I added Volumes II and III of The Heimskringla: or,
Chronicle of the Kings of Norway to E-resources to complete the three volume set of Samuel Laing's
1944 English translation.

Added a Research note to Erik Werenskiold's illustration of The Death of Erling in regard
to the Nobel Prize winner, Fridtjof Nansen (1861 - 1930). Werenskiold based his illustration
of Erling on Fridtjolf.
Changed "Anonymous" to "Artist Not Known" and created xml:ids for each
source so that clicking on "Artist Not Known" in Search Filters will bring
them all up. There are currently 60 items whose artists are not
known.
