Prestes Alley

The alley [p]robably adjoined the church of St. Mary at Hill as [i]t is frequently mentioned in the Records of that church Gap in transcription. Reason: Editorial omission for reasons of length or relevance. Use only in quotations in born-digital documents.[…] and seems to have formed part of the church property (Harben 486). It is stated that [i]n 1487-1488 three wicket-keys were provided for the entry door in the prestes Aleye,, and a clyket key to the Aleye dorr where the preste dwelt (Harben 486).
