Figured out a puzzling problem which both SB and LM had generated when experimenting with staticSearch: if you download (rather than clone) the source, and you then choose to run the test or customize the test instead of creating your own project, the build process, which was expecting to be able to get the git commit hash to use as a version number, instead gets a git error message. Made a direct fix in the 1.4 release branch, and a PR for dev. Then met with JT and we merged that and two other waiting PRs, then spent some time planning the now-overdue 2.0 release, cutting it down to a single ticket, essentially.
