ISE: More work on the conversion
I've reworked all of the handling of styling and alignment elements in the initial conversion of the files, making them milestones; the overlapping markup was becoming unmanageable when I tried to treat them as elements. The whole thing has been refactored, but that's pushed me back quite a ways in terms of creating valid TEI; many of the files which were working earlier are not now. Nevertheless, I think there's more chance of getting to a stable output at this point.
MT pointed me to updated documentation of the SGML elements and attributes, in which some are deprecated and some new ones are introduced, but the documents themselves seem to use only the deprecated ones and have not been ported forward to the new ones. I guess I'll actually have to handle both, though, so I've started adding some handlers there.
There will need to be a final transformation which rationalizes and abstracts the style attributes and rendition attributes once the initial conversion is done; there will probably be a lot of duplication as the same style is applied at multiple levels.
