Victoria Municipal 1871
Census
This database contains
records of the municipal census for Victoria in 1871.
This was not part of the national census, so the available data is different
from the other census records. The 1871 Victoria census data can only be searched
on its own; it is not linked to the other viHistory census searches.
Vancouver Island 1881 Census
This database contains detailed records of about 19,000 people, including First
Nations (i.e. aboriginal) people enumerated on Vancouver Island and the
adjacent Gulf Islands of British Columbia in 1881.
Vancouver Island 1891 Census
This database comprises nominal records for for over 36,000 native and non-native people
enumerated on Vancouver Island and the adjacent Gulf Islands of British Columbia in 1891.
Victoria Municipal 1891
Check Census
This database contains records of the municipal 'check' census for Victoria in September 1891.
This was not part of the national census, so the available data is different
from the other census records. The 1891 Victoria check census data can only be searched
on its own; some of the records in that database link to records on the same person in the Vancouver Island 1891 census.
City of Victoria and Vancouver Island 1901 Census
This database contains about 48,000 nominal census records for census districts 3 (City of Victoria) and 4 (Vancouver). District 4 covered communities outside Victoria City, such as Esquimalt, Saanich and Metchosin, and communities within the sub-districts of Alberni, Cowichan, Nanaimo
and Comox on Vancouver Island.
City of Victoria 1911 Census
This database contains about 32,000 nominal census records for the City of Victoria. The records were compiled during the Fifth decennial census of Canada in June 1911.
Alberni and Port Alberni 1911 Census
This database contains over 500 records for the communities of Alberni and Port Alberni in the Alberni valley. The records were compiled during the Fifth decennial census of Canada in June 1911.
