This section of the site includes the listing of all 426 people who lived or owned shops on the Servitengasse in 1938. Some of the people on the list lived and worked on the street and others were forced to move there into Sammelwohnungen (communal apartments in which many families and individuals were forced to live together in overcrowded quarter) before being deported to various ghettos and concentration camps.
Click on a name in the listing to learn more about what we know happened to each of these individuals after Austria was annexed by Nazi Germany in 1938.
