On Monday, met with ML and continued work on the rewrite of the dictionary site. Among other minor layout changes, we have decided to post-process the MSS search page to make it look like the other one.
On Tuesday, started trying to figure out why the MSS search pages are no longer being generated. This is a thorny problem.
On Wednesday, created the image collection for the new text (Potier 1747 Gospels) per ML, and created/populated the XML file so EH can start transcription. Then started looking at the latest build break. Found a couple of things to fix, and I’ve taken the postprocessing of the search page out of the build for the moment till I can get everything else working.
On Thursday, worked on the problem of all the many spurious validation errors caused by the VNU validator not keeping up with standards. I finally figured out how to suppress output of errors in VNU using a filter file; although regexes are used as they are in the Jenkins log parser files, you don’t wrap them in angle brackets. This breakthrough enabled me to suppress all the unwanted validation errors so that they don’t clutter up the build log.
On Friday, fixed some issues with the staticSearch logo. We’re now in a position to do the final walkthrough to search for regressions following the redesign.
