Over the weekend fixed a couple of build breaks caused by assumptions of a single ancestor base (b element), when of course they can nest.
On Tuesday met with ML and hashed out a new, simpler way of encoding
discontinuous bases which means we can dispense with the ugly and long-winded
use of @next and @prev with @xml:ids,
making everything easier to encode and read, as well as to process. Made a couple
of other enhancements to the schema at the same time. Sent the outline of
the major change to ML for approval.
