Met with ML to discuss next stages for the dictionary, and identified a number of changes we want to make to the taxonomy system, the encoding schema, and the configuration of the search page. Then the following day I turned my notes into Team tasks for ML to check before I start on implementation. The most interesting is going to be a post-processing step for the search page which organizes search filter sets which are based on hierarchical taxonomies into tree structures which reflect the hierarchy and honour it in the checkbox behaviour. I’ve already partly implemented this, and it seems to be working well to get the tree structure itself to show up; I still have to write JS to make the nested checkboxes coordinate themselves, and we have to decide what to do about categories which have no direct or descendant instances in the dataset.
