On Monday, started in on the work to create a new build to fix issues found in the release last week. With proper eyes on the site, we found many things to fix, including two sets of missing XML files. Lots of work to be done by the end of this week to get a second release out. Also had a meeting on rhyme tagging, and firmed up some principles on how to handle imperfect rhymes.
On Tuesday, worked almost all day on preparing for the bugfix release, which it turns out must be ready by the end of Wednesday. KF and I found temporary page-images for some Argosy volumes and processed them, and I generated Argosy files for volumes 61-70. Then worked through a bunch more issues being raised by the checking, and the diagnostics. Kept working till 9pm, catching new errors as they showed up from the editing going on, by running repeated builds.
On Wednesday, the whole team went into high gear and we identified and fixed a range of new things as the GitHub system came into its own. By 1.45 we had a confirmed working build with no known problems. However, when I got as far as building it locally and publishing it to a temporary folder on the server, I immediately noticed another issue with it, so had to bugfix and build again. Finally got the release out at the end of the day.
On Thursday, fixed the Jenkins build so that it wasn’t excluding The Graphic any more. Then added a diagnostic to find poems linked to temporary images, per AC. Also helped EW get set up on a new lab machine.
On Friday, worked on a number of Github issues left over after the release, and closed most of them.
