On Monday, met with AC and discussed the upcoming training, as well as plans going into the summer.
On Tuesday, made minor adjustments to three handouts we’ll be using
for the training, as well as taking a look at our current documentation
for encoding, and realizing it will all need to be properly updated to
take account of the complete switch to using <rendition>
elements.
Also met with KB, AC, and TB about the grant proposal for prosopography.
On Wednesday, did more preparation to the introduction to encoding workshop, then taught that workshop, and followed up by completing the encoding of the sample poem I was using, to remind myself of all the steps. In the process I noticed that the automated CSS-based suppression of spaces before punctuation was not functioning, so I debugged that and fixed it. Then added schema support and import handling for special issues (like summer and Christmass issues). I’ll need to check that this is handled in the rendering as well.
On Thursday, diagnosed a build break and added Schematron to catch it
(missing attributes on <rhyme>
). Also debugged a couple
of other issues from recent encoding.
On Friday, processed volumes 1-10 of Temple Bar into XML, and fully marked up another Argosy poem, to get comfortable with the CSS etc.
