Registration Information

Welcome to the Registration Pages for FLEAT III

Participants are strongly encouraged to pre-register. To qualify for the reduced advanced registration fee, your registration must be postmarked on or before July 10, 1997. You will receive confirmation of your registration in the mail. Pick up your registration package at the FLEAT III Pavilion located outside the University of Victoria Housing, Food and Conference Centre.

These pages tell you everything you need to know to register for FLEAT III, and allow you to register for the conference.

Registration for the conference is completely separate from reserving accommodations. For information on how to reserve accommodation on campus or at hotels downtown, visit the FLEAT III accommodations pages.

These two sections give you background information on Victoria.

General information
This page includes helpful hints on what to wear, the conference refund policy and other things.
Travel information
Everything you need to know on how to get to Victoria, and to the conference site at the University.

The following four sections of information help you fill in your registration form (including reservation requirements and cost, if any). If new offerings are made after you register, we will inform you individually.

Conference Program
(Information as of May 29, 1997 - list of session titles and presenters)
Includes keynotes, speakers, plenary sessions, parallel sessions, workshops, demonstrations, open Vendors' mall, and the software matsuri (festival).
Special Meals and Events
Special luncheons, dinners and after-hours events for delegates and guests. Includes the concluding dinner and dance and numerous other activities.
Pre-Conference Workshops
Two days of practical, hands-on activities. Introduce yourself to new aspects of Language and Learning. Most are 1/2 day sessions and first come, first served.
Activities for guests and families
The Housing and Conference Services Office at UVic is putting together activities for spouses and families of registered participants including crash courses in English and Japanese, tours of Victoria and area, golf and golf lessons, horseback riding and other cultural activities.
