Today I continued editing and marking up Pausanias 2. I created PITY2, PAUS3, EPIO1, ARES3, and (orgs)DORI6 and ARIC1. I also included ISCH1 as a son of ELAT1 because I read online that Ischys is the brother of Polyphemus which we had attributed to the man known as ELAT1 but please update it if you come across contradictory information. I also added to my lists and worked up to 2.27.6.

I continued through the PAUS text and updated a few old Attention blog posts along the way. I edited the PAUS text and added to the spelling errors post, and also created EURY62, ORNE2, PROE4, MAER1, and LYRC1. I marked up to PAUS 2.25.10 (start next day with Lessa).

I continued marking up the PAUS text, adding alias' or minor description edits along the way, and adding new persons and places that need to be created or need pleiades links to the respective lists. I created the organisation MELA21, the people SPHY1 and LARI2, and events 9431 and 9432. I worked up to PAUS 2.24.2.
In the first sentence of PAUS 2.23.5 I came across the word "Sicyorians"; however, because Pausanias refers to the Sicyonians repeatedly before and after I thought that it was possibly a spelling mistake. Greg and I found another translation through the Open Library (page 371) by WHS Jones which does not have the spelling variation so we feel confidant that the substitution of an "n" for an "r" was a mistake when copying the texts for web use and have fixed it.
Similarly, I used the open library link to WH Jones' translation as evidence that at some point our text was changed from "Tegea" to "Teges" and have since fixed it.
And again I have looked at Jones' work to show that "Omeae" in 2.25.5 should be "Orneae" and changed it.
And I changed "Anaxibi" and (family of. Aeacus" to "Anaxibia" and "(family of Aeacus)" in 2.29.4.
And "alter" to "after" in 2.30.3.
And "Pantinus" to "Pontinus" and "Amymane" to "Amymone" in 2.27.1.
Block quotes also need different formatting in order to differentiate between the quote and Pausaias' writing as seen in 2.3.4, 2.26.7, and 2.16.10.
Worked down PAUSErrors sheet, mainly creating links in places. Next day I will be working in Pliedes.
Self Referencing Links in Places and Orgs
A request to have links to additional places within place descriptions for quick and easy reference access. Using this linking system, researchers are able to follow their leads quite easily without having to access multiple pages or search separate areas of the project.

Today I continued marking up characters etc in the Pausanias text. Created a blog post for Greg about a bibl, sent an email to Dr. Bowman, and created HALI8. I also added to the pers list and edited DIPO1 and SCYL4's descriptions and worked up to PAUS 2.22.8.
Attention Greg:
PAUS 2.21.10 has a bibl source in which Pausanias cites Homer's Il. 24.609.
Block quotes also need different formatting in order to differentiate between the quote and Pausaias' writing as seen in 2.3.4, 2.26.7, and 2.16.10.

I have been spending most of my time marking up the PAUS text now by adding links to the names mentioned and ensuring that their relations are included in their bios. Many of these names already have a dedicated PersName and have just not been marked up. Along the way I also edited EPIM2's description, added an alias because of how we spell his name in PAUS to POLY25, created TIME1, ALCE3, PERI37, OTHR2, and added ADRA6 and as son of POLY25. I also found and fixed some old typos in descriptions with ref= instead of corresp= to fix. Worked up to PAUS 2.21.7.

Hey! I am just creating links within the project right now, not to Pliedes, only because I was hoping to burn through the errors/needs links lists by focusing on one area. That being said, I am happy to create those links after, but if others working on the project have time to do so, that task is up for grabs! I don't mind either way. I switch it up when something becomes exceedingly tedious. Happy MoM'ing
