We're now creating individual pages for people and places, in both English and French trees (Issue #111).
Did the rest of 1818 over the weekend. We're now in a position to figure out what the workstudy student should be doing.
Started on some more thorough documentation aimed both at KB and at the rest of HCMC, who may have to maintain the site. This is done in the ODD file and built into an HTML file.
Making steady progress.
Converted April and May 1818; added more people to the personography, and tagged them; fixed some display issues for small-format devices, especially for the home page; added a JS enhancement which, when you click on a link in the index to go to a page, highlights and scrolls to the index item where it appears on the page. Not doable with pure CSS, so it needed a few lines of JS, but it's just bling. Also changed link colour for links which do not go off-page.
Wrote some XSLT for auto-tagging names, which should make it easy as soon as I have the name list from KB. Cleaned up the appearance of the Index page a bit, and added a tiny bit of enhancement JS to make it more elegant if you happen to have JS on.
I now have a number of questions outstanding with KB, so I won't go further with implementing the indexing until I have responses to those. The rest of 1818 still needs to be done.
Tracked down a missing one from the set and added it. More poems tagged in existing texts.
Met with DH, clarified closed tickets, discussed bibliography-related ticket, and a couple of bugs in today's fix. Did more follow-up on the display of people, so that their info and picture show up differently in different contexts, popups, lists etc.
Finished adding the image provenance to the person popups, which required a rewrite of the way the person elements were processed. Tidied up some bad HTML in the hard-coded pages, fixed some dating and other errors in regular encoding, added handling for unclear element, fixed bug in handling of choice/sic/corr, and a number of other minor issues.
