We discussed the upcoming site re-design for GRS, and how we might future-proof it as much as possible, bearing in mind the CMS is coming. We'll make it Contribute-based, with all site components abstracted to include files, and also make sure that any include file is a well-formed XML node (not a documentFragment), so that XML processing will be easier in the future. We'll also try to encourage the re-use of some of the images from the current design, where appropriate, in the new site; that will save another long round of looking for images, getting copyright releases, etc.

We also looked at taking the calendar-rss-parsing code and adding it into other departmental sites, and we tweaked a graphic on an existing site.
