Mallarmé project: created getting-started pack for markup team
Posted by mholmes on 25 Feb 2011 in Activity log
I had on my schedule a meeting with the markup team for today, but no-one showed up so I must have been wrong. In preparing for it, though, I created a complete package of materials for them, posted on lancenrd, including:
- Detailed instructions on how to do the markup.
- Two sample poems marked up.
- A template file for them to get started with.
- Everything they need in a downloadable zip package.
I've included a link to "A Gentle Introduction to XML", and suggested they start by reading that (although LCC won't need to, because she's very familiar with TEI).
In the process, I recreated the odd file and schema to allow <name>
inside <l>
, to handle speakers' names at the beginnings of lines (a very simplistic approach, but all we need, since we won't be marking speeches or anything like that). This is the command, for the record:
java -jar /home/mholmes/apps/apache-tomcat-6.0.26/webapps/coldesp2/WEB-INF/lib/saxon9he.jar -it:main -o mallarme.odd /home/mholmes/WorkData/tei/1.8/xml/tei/stylesheet/tools2/oddbyexample.xsl corpus=`pwd`/
