PC came by to discuss a new db project for his research. We looked at the various options and different types of db, and it looks like this is best suited to the AdaptiveDB codebase, so we made a preliminary plan. After the meeting I fleshed this out with MySQL Workbench into a simple db structure with 11 tables. Three or four more might be needed if some text fields would be better constrained to fixed values. Sent the diagram to PC for comments. There are a couple of interesting aspects of the relationships between tables that might require some thought at the interface design stage, and possibly even some coding, but it's possible we can do this entirely with existing code, which would make it very straightforward.
