Tax Assessment Rolls : Nanaimo & Victoria

Tax assessment records tell us a lot about city spaces. The block, lot, and sub-lot numbers constitute a legal description of city lots and in many cases the legal descriptions are unchanged to this day. The records indicate the size, dimensions and "assessed value" of the properties. Tax assessement records also indicate who owned lots within the cities of Nanaimo and Victoria.
