SK had noticed that the changes I made to the sort process to force it to ignore the cedilla were apparently not working. I went back to my Java sort comparator project and ran the tests again, and they were all passing. Eventually I rebuilt the jar file again and re-added it to the project, and after that, it worked.

We also looked at an oddity SK found in the handling of W and X with combining macrons below. These are 2-codepoint characters, since there are no precomposed versions, but it turns out that the Aboriginal Serif font itself is mapping these to a precomposed glyph in the private use area, presumably for aesthetic reasons. This is not really a problem, since we’re producing a print document that people should not be copy-pasting from, but it was an interesting puzzle.
