From Monday through Wednesday, had discussions with the Archive Cluster, JSR, JJ and GN on project planning and the hiring of co-op students. We are gradually settling on a timeline for the hiring and a plan for the initiation of transcription and encoding, and thinking about how translation will factor into the schedule.
On Thursday, more emails and discussions as the plan for transcription and encoding gets worked out. Also did some background research on stemming and tokenizing in Japanese, and added a disclaimer page to the beginning of a few hundred of the PDFs from UBC in LOI.
