On Monday, continued working through Names Committee changes, and added some more Schematron constraints to ensure that the documentation of changes is consistent. Then built and published the latest changes to the private site.
On Tuesday, started working on the complex process to handle cases where two
names already on the Monument prove to be the same person. This is quite tricky
to encode, to document, and to process; starting with some feedback from the Names
Committee, I put a plan together and made the requisite changes for the first
case and for the processing and diagnostics, then started testing. Once that process
was working, I documented it in the teiMonument.odd file, but then
realized that we don’t yet have a build process for our ODD documentation, so
I set about adding one; that required adding a local copy of the TEI Stylesheets,
so I pulled the latest release and pared it down to what we need. Eventually the
documentation build was working, so I then followed my own documentation to
complete the second merger case.
On Wednesday, worked through a few more of the latest changes, and rebuilt and published the private site. Then worked on the styling of the popover for future additions, so it doesn’t look too bad, pending PS having time to look at it.
On Thursday, did more updates/additions from the spreadsheet, and clarified sources for some of them from the team, in an effort to keep a good audit trail.
On Friday, fixed some cases of nested note elements, then added Schematron to prevent them. After that, I tweaked the place bio rendering so that it should show only English on the live site, but will show the Japanese on the private site where it exists.
