On Tuesday, experimented with removing the containing area or the contained community for those cases where there is only one community in an area, and determined that it would be problematic, since all the processing is posited on a hierarchy. Rather than rewrite everything, I’ve settled or suppressing the link from area page to community page in the listings-by-place, so there’s no apparent redundancy, although both places will obviously have pages, because we need to be able to jump from the map to a community page. The place bio and its translation will have to be inherited at build time from the contained community place and included in the area page.
On Wednesday, I began more serious work on the possible implementation of staticSearch for Japanese, which is a major unsolved problem at the moment. I raised Issue 381, with a basic plan, asking for comments from JT before I start on the work. Then received a minor correction to LOI and Monument data from SI, and further investigation revealed a wrong birthdate as well, so I made all those corrections in both LOI and Monument datasets.
On Friday, got some new content from the JCLS folks for the home page, and build/uploaded a new dev version.
