On Monday, met with AN and worked through all the translation work required
in this phase, which is mostly captions and site page content. Discussed some
translation difficulties (Rural Route
, PO Box
, and others), and
set up a transformation scenario in Oxygen so that she can create the placenames
and translation spreadsheets. Next on my list will be using the translation
spreadsheets (or a parallel output) to auto-generate a partially-translated
version of a bio, so that the translator doesn’t have to laboriously type
content which has a standardized translation or katakana form.
On Tuesday, worked with GN to tweak a couple of build processes to get the new map font configuration working reliably.
On Friday, did a first draft of our bits of the page about the names list, and began to get some feedback. This is difficult and time-consuming.
