Over the long weekend and on Tuesday, continued working on the katakana placenames for the place hierarchy and the map.
On Wednesday, started rewriting the JS to incorporate katakana placenames in the various listings pages, and also created landing pages for the communities which will eventually have their own write-ups in both languages.
On Thursday, finished a first pass through the place hierarchy creating Japanese placenames, and created a new output spreadsheet which lists them along with any caveats or questions, so we can discuss them with the JCLS. Then worked with GN on getting the map working, as well as adding Japanese placenames into all the other various pages where placenames appear.
On Friday, spent an inordinate amount of time working around the problems of getting bilingual placenames in the place listing pages. This was very tricky, but is now working. There are about three more places where bilingual stuff needs to be done.
