Spent all of Monday checking the names and correcting the OCR, confirming
that there were no errors, and then turning the corrected OCR into a TEI
transcription of the monument, with <pb/> elements linking
to images, <lb/>s, and <placeName> elements
tagging all the regions, subregions, areas, and communities.
On Tuesday, continued tagging the transcription, adding <persName> elements
for all the names, and then started working on a mechanism for linking each name to its target
person record/page.
On Thursday, went back to the name-tagging process, and after much wrestling with accumulators
in an approach that did not work, ended up creating a 2-pass transformation that resolved the
problem of multiple instances of the same name in the same area requiring distinct id links.
We now have a complete transcription of the stones, with every name linked to its person
element through a @corresp attribute.
