On Tuesday, set up a system for publishing a private version of the site so that we can all access a protected version of the site for viewing when we need to. Worked with GN on rationalizing the previously hard-coded pmtiles links, which are now relative, making the site portable.
On Wednesday, received a PDF version of the output for checking, and found several names broken across lines, which is not supposed to happen; also responded on a couple of names that look like they might have typos. Then finished the rewrite to replace the old ad-hoc place hierarchy with the fully-realized TEI version, and tested that. Then we had a meeting on the Home page.
On Thursday, worked on getting the search working, particularly the docTitle and
other filters, in the English side of the site. Also replaced all instances of
town
with comm
in the map JavaScript, for consistency of nomenclature.
Then I added the map link to the person pages (from the original residence location).
Meanwhile, we got the latest candidate name list pdf from ST, and I checked it and
found it perfect.
On Friday, made more progress with translating the map components, but the last phase of this will depend on a final decision as to what gets translated from the placeography. Also worked on a post-process of the search page, and moved the only footer logo into the credits page, which I filled out a bit to get a sense of how it might look. At the end of the day, we got the first version of a vector rendering of the namelist, and GN started trying to get it text-recognized so that we could run a check on it.
