On Monday, still not having clear instructions on how to proceed, went ahead with analyzing and fixing more anomalies, particularly related to adopted children. The parsing of the original transcription data gets more complicated the more edge-case relationships we discover. I was also hit by a problem with regexes not being processed properly in Saxon, which turned out to be fixed by updating the Saxon 10 version from 10.1 to 10.8; hopefully that does not trigger any side-effects for the archive build, but if anything it should improve things.
On Wednesday, I rewrote the matching routine so that it produces an HTML page listing all the potential matches, giving each match a unique id, and also provides convenient links to all of the possible custodian-related data that might help the team in deciding on a match.
On Thursday, rejigged the output a bit and then we had a meeting with NA and MA to plan the work.
