Monocle update

: Pat Szpak
Minutes: 1800

Most of the design work for Monocle has been completed by Navarra and I in Figma. Our intention is to provide a solid framework for the frontend designer (me) when working with CSS and HTML. Once this is done, the plan was that a developer would then convert a functional static HTML prototype into a working app.

Anyone with an internet browser can view the Figma file. Just ask me how.

So far, we have discovered that we need more detailed specifications. While we did provide broad specifications, we now realize that being more detailed would prevent confusion during development, especially when the work is done before the prototype.

Currently, I am developing the static HTML prototype. It will contain most of the HTML and styling required, as well as a significant amount of accessibility markup that we can implement early on to avoid retrofitting later.

Finally, Navarra has created an idea for a logo, which is almost complete. Navarra and I collaborated to refine the concept and convert it into an SVG design file. During this process, I introduced Navarra to some fundamental concepts of working in vector design software.
