On Monday, worked with DA to pair-program an XML output for each featured woman including all their extended relationship collection. DA can now use this to generate dot files for graphviz.
On Tuesday, helped DA a bit more; she’s now generating dot files and SVG family trees are coming out, which is remarkable progress.
On Wednesday, helped DA work around a missing svn commit, tested the graphviz process (it works!), merged two events that turned out to be the same event, and fixed a bug falling out from that (first case of two different secondary sources, which is where the duplicate event had originated in the first place).
On Friday, wrote and tested (with XSpec) code to generate dummy spouses based on whether people have particular types of relationship and also have children. This seems to be working well. In the process, I discovered that most of the persons who originated as db relatives don’t yet have genders, so I proposed to AB that I use a semi-automated approach to assigning it; she agreed, and I worked through several hundred cases. There are six remaining people where no clue exists to their gender.
