Over the weekend and on Monday, I added lots of Schematron and a whole new diagnostic package to start to regulate pointers and attribute values ahead of some actual manual editing beginning to take place next week. I’ve set the diagnostics up like we did on Moses, so that you can run a single diagnostic locally if you’re working on fixing things. The question of how msDescs should function is still open.
On Tuesday, met with AB and worked through the addition of a new set of secondary sources ready for the new data to be entered starting next week. Also discussed the confusion around msDesc and particularly TNA references; as a result, I wrote some XSLT to further refine those references by building a new layer of msDescs at the actual manuscript level, based on info currently encoded in the bibl element, which it shouldn’t be. When we have answers to a couple of questions, I’ll be able to run that and rationalize the TNA records.
On Wednesday, fixed records based on AB’s instructions, and then ran the msDesc conversion
code to split out all the actual TNA manuscripts into separate <msDesc>
s.
Following that, I had to make a minor fix to the output processing to take account of the
changed record structures, but other than that the site now seems to be back to normal. Then
started adding keyboard shortcuts to the project, and enabled inclusion of these in the
documentation. We’re aiming to have a usable XML setup by next Thursday.
On Thursday, did more rationalization of the old id values to make more human-friendly
values for encoding in <ptr>
/@ana
, and fixed the processing
to handle the changes.
