On Tuesday, worked on the Chronology page, and discovered that it’s done by means of an injected iframe which piles up a huge array of JavaScript of many vintages to build the interactive timeline, and much of the JS is obsolete and risky to deploy. I tried to retrieve and reconstruct the functionality, but was unsuccessful; I think there are more JavaScript-loading-Javascript shenanigans going on in the background, and it all looks very shaky. However, I believe all the data for the entries is contained in a single JSON file, so I propose to replace the fancy chronology with a simple page which just lists out all the events with their dates making it prettier at some point in the future.
