HCMC Welcomes Acting Academic Director

Dr. Janelle Jenstad, Professor in the Department of English, has been appointed Acting Academic Director of the Humanities Computing and Media Centre for the term 2024-01-02 to 2024-06-30. Dr. Jenstad has worked with the HCMC developers and staff since 2005, first on The Map of Early Modern London project and more recently on Linked Early Modern Drama Online. She was a co-applicant on the SSHRC-funded Endings project, in which HCMC developed recommendations and principles for ending and archiving static versions of digital humanities projects. From 2020 to 2023, she served as an elected member of the TEI Technical Council. She has frequently taught TEI, XML, and the Endings Principles in classes at UVic and in webinars and workshops elsewhere.
