Resources for RAs

I gave this list of resources to our incoming RAs:
- (1) Start here: YouTube video on TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) prepared by Amelia Chesley, a grad student at Texas Tech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6iiIFrWvmU
- (2) Oxford DigiHums Workshop Notes on TEI: http://tei.oucs.ox.ac.uk/Talks/2007-12-Poznan/
- (3) HCMC notes for English 500 workshops on TEI and CSS: http://hcmc.uvic.ca/presentations/xml/. (Sarah and Michael: These notes will look familiar! Noam and Nathan: You’ll be meeting these notes again in English 500.)
- (4) MoEML’s own encoding notes: http://mapoflondon.uvic.ca/xml_encoding.htm. Martin wrote these notes after the November 2011 rebuild. I refer to them EVERY time I encode something. You’ll have templates to work from, but you’ll still be referring to these notes. Don’t worry if these notes don’t make sense yet. All will become clear with training and practice.
- (5) If you are interested, here’s a brief statement of the tech specs for the site: http://mapoflondon.uvic.ca/technical_specs.htm (don’t worry if this info doesn’t make sense – you won’t be dealing with the back end of the site)
