Newcastle writes to Douglas to acknowledge Douglas’s earlier despatch on Captain Prevost’s voyage to Queen Charlotte's Island. Newcastle approves of Douglas’s posted notice at Mitchell's Harbour, a notice which warns against unlicensed mining; moreover, he approves of Douglas’s reprisals for the capture of the Susan Sturges, and of Douglas’s orders to Prevost on the subject.
