With reference to your letter of the 
11 of December 1862
               
               
               signifying the concurrence of the Secretary of State to
               the proposition that the Colonial Government of 
British Columbia
               should contribute the sum of £500 per annum in aid of the
               cost of the survey of the coast of the Colony; I am commanded
               by My 
Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to request you will
               move the 
Duke of Newcastle to cause the amount in question
               (which My Lords are informed has been agreed to by the Colonial
               Government) to be now paid over to the Naval Department in aid
               of the first year's cost of the Survey,
and
 and to cause a similar
               amount to be paid over annually until the completion of the Service.
