Sir,
I beg to acknowledge your letter of the 9th and enclosing a
copy of a correspondence between the Colonial Department, the
Governor of B Columbia and the Bishop of London respecting an
appointment 
made by Governor Douglas under a misapprehension of the
nature of a License held from the Bp of London by the Rev. W.B.
Crickmer a Missionary of the Colonial Ch & School Society; and I have
to express my thanks 
for the trouble taken by the Colonial Office in
placing the matter upon a proper footing.
