以下の文章は、今後サイト更新時に日本語に翻訳される予定です。

White Rock, on Semiahmoo Bay, developed as a beachside community around 1889. It takes it is named after a large white boulder on the waterfront. The Great Northern Railway opened a station in 1909, the Campbell River Lumber Company (CRLC) was founded in 1913, and the steamship pier was built in 1914. The sawmill employed many Japanese Canadians and provided housing in White Rock’s east end. In 1927, the mill closed due to lack of local timber; however, many workers remained in White Rock. By 1925, the Obana, Irizawa, Sakamoto, Honda, Onodera, Shinmoto, Shigehiro, Kimura, Sameshima, and Kanemura families were living in the community.
