レッド・ギャップから追放された (15) 地図上を表示

以下の文章は、今後サイト更新時に日本語に翻訳される予定です。

Red Gap, formerly known as part of the flats of Nanoose Bay, was established by the Straits Lumber Company as a mill town in 1912. Segregated communities were built beside the railway tracks for workers, and the Japanese Canadian community had small flower and vegetable gardens. Japan was the mill’s primary customer, and for three years in the 1930s, the Straits mill was the largest lumber operation in the Pacific Northwest. There was a fire in 1940, and the mill went out of business after the attack on Pearl Harbour. Once the mill closed, Red Gap became a ghost town.
