以下の文章は、今後サイト更新時に日本語に翻訳される予定です。

Indian River, a tributary of Indian Arm, was extensively exploited for timber. Logs were driven down the Indian River to the estuary. One of earliest the logging operations in the area was established at the mouth of the Indian River by Yonekichi Aoki, who employed about forty-five Japanese Canadians; he became a contractor for the CPR, and later a wealthy Vancouver rooming-house owner.

Other employers of Japanese Canadians included the Pacific Shingle Company, the Indian River Shingle Company, and the Stave Lake Cedar Shingle Company. Others worked as fishermen or for the Canadian Pacific Railway.
