People uprooted from Premier (5) View on map

Premier, in the Salmon River Valley, was established by non-Indigenous settlers as a gold-silver mining camp in 1910. It was roughly twenty-two kilometres from Hyder, Alaska, and residents travelled between the two for entertainment when not working. By 1918, Premier had developed into one of the most active mineral deposits sites in BC. Large bunkhouses, cookhouses, and mining facilities were on the hillside.

This person will be included on the monument panels in a future addition.
