People uprooted from Porlier Pass (1) View on map

Porlier Pass (also known as Cowichan Gap,) is a channel in the Strait of Georgia—between southern Valdes Island and northern Galiano Island. It has strong tides and an abundance of salmon, cod, herring, and shellfish which made it a prime fishing location for Japanese Canadian fishermen year round. Porlier Pass was used to travel between the Southern Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver.

This person will be included on the monument panels in a future addition.
