  1. Polydamas urges Hector not to try and force their horses to cross the perilous Achaean trench, but rather continue on foot
  2. The Trojans divide into five companies led by Hector, Polydamas, Cebriones, Paris, Alcathous, Agenor, Helenus, Deiphobus, Asius, Aeneas, Archelochus, Acamas, Sarpedon, Glaucus, and Asteropaeus
