Marco T.R. Ferrante

Marco Ferrante holds a PhD in Physical and Chemical Sciences from the University of Dell’Aquila. From 2010 to 2011, he was a Fellow at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories during which time he deepen and consolidated his knowledge in inorganic mass spectrometry working with advanced instrumentation such as quadrupolar ICP-MS and HR-ICP-MS and collaborating with research groups for particle physics experiments (BOREX, GERDA) dealing with analytical chemical measurements.

Between 2014 and 2017, he worked on his PhD at the Isotopic Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories where he had the opportunity to specialize in Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS) and undertook various interdisciplinary projects in the archaeological and archaeometric fields and food traceability. From 2017 to 2019, he was Research Fellow at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories at the Chemistry and Chemical Plants Service.

In 2018, Dr. Ferrante founded Trace Technologies, a data driven company whose vision centers on how data can help us understand the world around us. He is also a member of the Italian Chemical Society (section of chemistry and cultural heritage) and of the Italian archaeometric society.
