Description
Based on Acts 3-5 of King Richard III. The fifteenth and final episode in An Age of Kings. (See also numbers 156-9, 178-9, 185, 188, 190-2, 485-6, and 505). This last program involved a cast of 57 actors and a budget of £4,020, which made it the most expensive in the series. Not surprisingly Shakespeare's longest play required an extra 15 minutes in viewing time. Of special interest is the sudden re-emergence of Frank Pettingell, Falstaff earlier in the series, as Bishop of Ely. For additional background, see The Hollow Crown (485)
